Lot 539: Two Vintage Items comprising a Brass Blowtorch and a Painted Metal Warning Sign
A vintage brass blowtorch, attributed to Max Sievert of Stockholm. The apparatus features a cylindrical brass fuel reservoir, an integrated manual pump with a knurled plunger, and a burner assembly with lateral ventilation slots. It is fitted with a curved, slotted metal handle. Also included is a rectangular painted metal warning sign bearing the text DANGER CONCEALED ENTRANCE in vertical block lettering. The word DANGER is rendered in red, while the remaining text is in black. The sign is constructed with mounting holes at the corners. A white auction lot sticker, numbered 539, is attached to the upper right corner. No manufacturer marks or model numbers are clearly visible on either item.
Condition report:
The blowtorch displays an aged patina with surface oxidation, tarnish, and wear commensurate with industrial use. The sign exhibits significant weathering, including surface soiling, spotting, and corrosion concentrated at the edges and mounting apertures.
