Lot 612: Two Items Comprising an Imperial Quartz Mantel Clock and an Inlaid Wooden Box
This lot features an Imperial quartz mantel clock and a decorative inlaid wooden box. The clock is designed in the style of a carriage clock, featuring a brass-tone metal frame with wooden top and bottom plinths. The rectangular brushed gold-tone dial is marked with a crown symbol above the cursive text Imperial and is inscribed Made in England at the base. It features black Roman numeral hour markers, a dotted minute track, and black spade-style hour and minute hands. The case is fitted with four clear glass panels and rests on four brass ball feet. The accompanying wooden trinket box is constructed from polished wood with a scalloped lower edge. The hinged lid is decorated with a rectangular inlaid border and two mother-of-pearl inlays depicting birds in flight. The interior is divided into three fixed wooden compartments and features brass-tone hinges.
Condition report:
The clock is in good cosmetic condition with minor surface wear and light tarnishing to the brass-tone elements consistent with age. The quartz movement is untested. The wooden box shows light surface scratches and wear to the polished finish. The mother-of-pearl inlays appear intact.
