Lot 647: A Three-Piece Victorian Style Ebony and Silver-Toned Monogrammed Vanity Set
This lot comprises a three-piece dressing table vanity set, presented in a fitted wooden case. The set includes a hand mirror, a hairbrush with natural bristles, and a pair of glove stretchers. Each piece is constructed from a black material, likely ebony wood, and features an inlaid silver-toned metal monogram to the reverse. The monograms are designed in an ornate, interlaced script, appearing to show a capital letter A intertwined with a second stylized letter, possibly an S or G. The items are housed in a rectangular wooden presentation box with a red velvet-lined interior. The design and materials are characteristic of British grooming sets from the late Victorian or Edwardian periods. No other maker’s marks, hallmarks, or country of origin marks are visible on the items.
