Lot 277: A Collection of Knitting and Sewing Equipment including an Empisal Knitmaster Knitting Machine
An assortment of textile craft equipment featuring an Empisal Knitmaster knitting machine housed in a white metal carry case, marked Made in Japan. The lot includes an Empisal Knitmaster LC-2 lace carriage in its original cardboard packaging and a boxed mini sewing machine. Accompanying the machines is a selection of sewing notions and haberdashery, including threads, elastic, and buttons, contained within several metal tins and a lidded woven basket with dark horizontal banding. The collection is completed by a group of related literature, including the book Machine Knits by Valerie Carter and various pattern magazines.
Condition report:
The items exhibit signs of age and previous use. The metal case for the knitting machine shows surface marks and minor oxidation. Cardboard packaging for the lace carriage and mini sewing machine displays wear, creasing, and scuffing. The woven basket and tins show light wear consistent with age. Internal mechanical condition is untested.
