Lot 278: An Assortment of Decorative Ceramics Metalware and Household Items
A collection of various decorative and household items. The ceramic component includes several plates featuring scalloped edges with an oak leaf and acorn border surrounding central polychrome pastoral cottage scenes. Also included is a mint green relief-moulded jug, a blue-glazed shallow bowl with a white-line bird motif, a brown glazed stoneware jar, a rectangular cream-coloured baking dish, and a large pitcher with a white exterior and red interior. Metalware comprises an elongated double-ended stainless steel sauce boat, a stainless steel steamer pot with a glass lid, and various baking tins including a muffin pan. The lot also features a circular wall barometer with a turned wooden surround, the face marked with traditional meteorological terms including Stormy, Rain, Change, Fair, and Very Dry. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The collection is in used condition consistent with domestic utility. Visible surface wear, scratches, and signs of use are present across the metalware and ceramics. The baking dish shows some discolouration and surface marking. The items exhibit significant condition issues as noted in the visual inspection. The barometer is untested for functionality.
