Lot 47: An Assortment of Hand Tools and a Metro Carrying Bag
This lot comprises a collection of hand tools and accessories suitable for various trades including roofing, masonry, and general maintenance. The primary item is a manual roofing or slate cutter featuring orange and black ergonomic handles, bearing the maker’s mark EDMA. The collection includes a variety of screwdrivers such as a Yankee-style spiral-drive model, several flat-head and Phillips-head drivers with modern plastic handles in black, yellow, and red, and a precision screwdriver. Striking tools consist of a large rubber mallet with a wooden handle and a vintage ball-peen hammer with a wooden handle. Prying and masonry equipment includes a steel crowbar and a triangular pointing trowel. Also present is a shave hook with a triangular blade and wooden handle, and a single bar clamp with blue-painted jaws. The lot is accompanied by a black textile shoulder bag with blue accents marked METRO and a small plastic bag containing a leather strap and a 12V automotive-style plug.
Condition report:
The items are in mixed condition. Modern tools including the EDMA cutter and rubber mallet show signs of regular use but remain functional. Several metal items, specifically the ball-peen hammer, pointing trowel, crowbar, and bar clamp, exhibit significant surface rust and pitting. The spiral screwdriver shows oxidation on the metal shaft. The bar clamp appears to be incomplete, missing a handle or lever on the screw mechanism. The textile bag shows signs of wear consistent with use in a workshop environment. Functionality of individual items has not been tested.
