Lot 482: A Set of Six Vintage Daleware Square Cast Aluminium Saucepans
A set of six graduated square-form saucepans attributed to Daleware. The pans are constructed from heavy cast aluminium with rounded corners, a design characteristic of the mid-20th century intended for efficient space-saving on stovetops and ranges. Each pan is accompanied by a matching cast aluminium lid featuring a central black composite knob. The long handles are made of a dark, heat-resistant composite material, likely Bakelite, and are fitted with metal hanging loops. One lid features handwritten characters in blue and black ink including the numbers 3.50 and 6 alongside a musical note symbol. A lot number sticker is present on one pan body.
Condition report:
The set is in heavily used condition. The aluminium surfaces show significant scratching, scuffing, and staining consistent with age and prolonged domestic use. The interiors of the pans exhibit visible pitting. One lid is notably covered in significant residues of blue and yellow paint. There is visible oxidation and surface corrosion on the metal joins where the handles meet the pan bodies.
