Start price: £8

Estimated price: £12

Buyer's Premium:

A group of Denby stoneware items in the Potters Wheel pattern, finished in a speckled oatmeal glaze with dark brown accents. The collection consists of lidded storage jars and jugs. The storage jars are of cylindrical form, labelled in bold dark brown serif lettering for TEA, SUGAR, and COFFEE. These jars feature characteristic horizontal ribbed lug handles near the base and domed lids with large arched bridge handles. The two jugs include a small cream jug with a brown-lined rim and a larger jug with a broad dark brown band around the base, both featuring integrated handles and spouts. An auction label on the TEA jar identifies the items as Denby. These pieces are characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century British domestic stoneware produced in Derbyshire, England.

Condition report:

The items appear to be in generally good vintage condition. There is minor surface wear and small kiln-spurs or glaze irregularities consistent with stoneware production of this period. No major cracks or large chips are visible. There may be minor nibbles to the inner rims of the lids and the spouts of the jugs.
