Lot 578: An Assortment of 20th Century Costume Jewellery and Accessories with Storage Boxes
A collection of costume jewellery and accessories dating from the mid-to-late 20th century. The lot includes multiple necklaces featuring faux pearls and faceted glass and plastic beads. Also present is an assortment of earrings, some retained on original card backings, alongside various bangles and bracelets. A ladies gold-tone wristwatch is included with several loose leather watch straps. The items are housed in a variety of containers, notably a large multi-tiered black lacquer-effect jewellery box decorated with red and gold-tone Orientalist landscapes depicting temples and trees, lined with pink fabric. Other storage includes a blue faux-leather hinged box and several small cardboard presentation boxes. Materials consist of gold-tone and silver-tone base metals, rhinestones, and synthetic beads. No makers marks are visible on the primary jewellery items.
Condition report:
The collection is in fair to good condition, showing wear consistent with age and use. Some necklaces are tangled within their containers. The lacquer-effect box exhibits minor surface wear but remains functional. The lot is sold as seen.
