Buyer's Premium:

This lot consists of two pieces of glazed earthenware from the Portmeirion Botanic Garden range, designed by Susan Williams-Ellis. The first item is a large pitcher or ewer featuring a transfer-printed botanical specimen of Digitalis Purpurea (Foxglove) with pink bell-shaped flowers and green foliage. The design includes several butterflies, notably a purple and blue specimen near the spout. The pitcher is constructed with a sweeping handle and a wide, curved spout. The second item is a small bulbous vase with a flared rim and a pedestal-style base, decorated with a transfer-printed Viola Hybrida (Pansy) motif in purple, white, and yellow. Both pieces are finished in a clear glaze over a cream-coloured body. The bases of both items bear the green oval Portmeirion factory mark, which includes the pattern name, the designer Susan Williams-Ellis, and the origin Made in England.

Condition report:

Both items are in excellent overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or evidence of restoration. There is minor shelf wear to the unglazed foot rim of the large pitcher.
