Lot 940: A Regency Style Mahogany Side Chest and a Nest of Three Oak Tables
A Regency style reproduction side chest and a nest of three oak occasional tables. The side chest is constructed from mahogany and mahogany veneers, featuring a rectangular top with a moulded edge. It contains three drawers, each fitted with twin circular decorative ring pulls with a foliate motif. The piece is supported by four fluted and ring-turned tapering legs. The nest of three tables is made from solid oak in a traditional style. Each table has a rectangular top with bevelled edges, supported by a trestle-style base with turned uprights and sledge feet. No maker’s marks are present. The items bear auction house labels, one handwritten reading SMALL CHEST 3 DRAWER and OAK NEST OF TABLES and another marked with the number 940.
Condition report:
The side chest is in good condition with minor surface scuffs and light wear to the finish around the edges and legs consistent with household use. The nest of tables is in fair condition, showing visible wear to the tops including scratches, indentations, and areas of light staining.
