Lot 994: A Pair of Plush Teddy Bears and an Assortment of Cordage
This lot consists of two plush teddy bears and a collection of cordage. The first bear is a medium-sized example featuring variegated dark brown and black long-pile synthetic plush, a hand-stitched brown nose, and a cream-coloured knitted sweater decorated with a red and green geometric pattern. A green fabric manufacturer tag is present under the left arm. The second bear is smaller in scale, crafted from emerald green curly plush and wearing a red and green plaid ruffled fabric collar. The cordage includes a large, loosely wound ball of tan-coloured natural fibre twine, likely jute or sisal, and a large cylindrical spool of cream-coloured braided rope of cotton or synthetic blend construction. The rope spool retains a white rectangular paper label from Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 994.
Condition report:
The items are in generally good, used condition. Both bears appear complete with no significant loss to the plush pile. The cream rope spool shows scattered brown surface staining on the outer layers. The tan twine is loosely tangled.
