Lot 447: A Collection of Seventeen Decorative and Commemorative Ceramic Plates including Copeland Spode Summer Days Ware and a Michael Jackson Limited Edition Plate
This collection consists of seventeen ceramic items featuring various patterns and commemorative themes. A significant portion of the lot comprises eleven pieces of Copeland Spode earthenware in the Summer Days pattern, consisting of four plates and seven saucers. These pieces feature a rounded triangular form with a thumbprint indentation and are decorated with a transfer-printed design of wild strawberries and clover on a white ground, finished with a pale blue border. The bases are marked with the pattern number S 3304, the Copeland Spode logo, England, and Summer Days in script. Included in the lot is a Brooks & Bentley fine china commemorative plate titled The King Of Pop, issued in 2009 to commemorate the life of Michael Jackson. This plate is a limited edition of 5,000 and features various photographic images of the artist. The base is marked with the edition details and the note that it is an heirloom collectable not intended for food use. It is accompanied by its original box and a Certificate of Authenticity. Further items include a large circular decorative plate featuring a nursery-style illustration of teddy bears in a wicker chair, bordered by the text I SEE THE MOON AND THE MOON SEES ME. Additionally, the group contains four small circular plates with scalloped, gilded rims, each featuring a transfer-printed rural landscape scene depicting cottages and gardens.
