Lot 468: A Collection of Ceramics and Kitchenalia including Franklin Mint All Creatures Great and Small Plates
A collection of ceramics and kitchenalia featuring fine bone china cabinet plates from the All Creatures Great and Small and The Country Year series by Peter Barrett for Franklin Mint. These plates exhibit transfer-printed naturalist and countryside scenes with gilded rims. Subjects include a kingfisher by a waterfall, a tabby cat overlooking a coastal harbour with lobster pots, and seasonal landscapes featuring butterflies and winter scenes. The lot further includes a large stoneware platter featuring a relief-moulded crouching big cat in mottled glazes against a cream ground, with a textured geometric border. An earthenware commemorative plate is present, decorated with a brown transfer-printed illustration of children and the border text MOTHER MAKES A HAPPY HOME.
