A collection of volumes from the Encyclopaedia Britannica and a single volume of Practical Engineering. The Britannica volumes are bound in publisher’s black pebble-textured hardcover with gilt-stamped lettering and decorative bands. The front boards feature a central gilt thistle emblem flanked by the date 17 68. The spines are detailed with gold bands and include the title, volume numbers, and alphabetical ranges. Volumes present in this group include Volume 2 (ANNU TO BALTIC), Volume 3 (BALTIM TO BRAIL), Volume 4 (BRAIN TO CASTIN), Volume 5 (CASTIR TO COLE), Volume 7 (DAMASCU TO EDUC), Volume 9 (EXTRACTI TO GAMB), Volume 11 (GUNN TO HYDROX), Volume 12 (HYDROZ TO JEREM), Volume 13 (JEREZ TO LIBE), Volume 14 (LIBI TO MARY), Volume 15 (MARYB TO MUSHE), and Volume 25 (ATLAS). The collection also includes the Britannica Book of the Year 1955, covering Events of 1954. Additionally, there is a single volume titled Practical Engineering, Volume VI, edited by F. J. Camm and published by Newnes, which features a gilt cogwheel device on the spine. The books are in quarto format.
