Lot 976: A Set of Late 20th Century Pine Dining Furniture comprising a Trestle Table and Chairs
This dining suite is constructed from solid pine and finished with a honey-coloured wax, characteristic of traditional country-style furniture from the 1970s or 1980s. The table features a fixed, solid pine top with clipped corners creating an octagonal form. It is supported by a sturdy trestle-style base with two shaped upright supports connected by a central stretcher, which is secured using traditional through-tenon and wooden wedge-peg construction. The matching spindle-back chairs feature shaped solid pine seats, turned outer back posts with central turned spindles, and turned legs joined by H-shaped stretchers.
