Lot 416: A Collection of Fifteen Ceramic Trinket and Pill Boxes
A collection of fifteen decorative ceramic trinket and pill boxes of various forms, constructed from fine bone china and porcelain. The group includes round, oval, hexagonal, heart-shaped, egg-shaped, and rectangular examples. Decoration varies across the lot, featuring two circular boxes with textured green-patterned sides and lids heavily encrusted with high-relief applied ceramic flowers. Other boxes display transfer-printed floral motifs such as violets, roses, and strawberries, while one circular box features a polychrome landscape scene depicting a country house. One red-ground box with gilt-accented floral patterns is marked to the base Museum Collections Ltd, William Morris, Sunflower, Made in England. A small hinged box contains a retailer label for Cadeaux, Amboise, France. Several pieces include metal hinged mounts with gilt finishes.
