Lot 418: A Collection of Vintage Siler Monogramed Grooming and Vanity Items including a Retailer Labelled Box
A collection of mid-20th-century personal grooming and vanity accessories. The lot includes a pair of oval hairbrushes with dark-stained wooden backs, each featuring an inset white metal stylized monogram of the letter H. Also present is a Two-Tix brush set, comprising two hairbrushes with engine-turned silver-tone metal backs, contained within the original branded clear plastic and card packaging marked Made in England. The collection includes a small zippered travel grooming kit with a cream-coloured outer brush surface and a red fabric-lined interior; this kit is fitted with various manicure tools including a nail file marked Made in England, two pairs of tweezers, and three ivorine-handled cuticle implements. These items are housed in a black cloth-covered hexagonal vanity box with a red-lined interior, bearing a printed retailer label for Botterell & Son, Watchmakers & Jewellers, 24 & 25 Fore St, Liskeard. An associated plain red rectangular cardboard box is also included in the lot.
