Lot 558: A collection of vintage blue and white porcelain figurines in the colonial style
A collection of porcelain figurines, primarily modelled in 18th-century courtly and pastoral attire. The group includes multiple figures playing musical instruments, such as harps, lutes, and mandolins, alongside figures holding floral baskets, fans, and bouquets. One figure is depicted on horseback. The pieces are crafted in glazed white porcelain with underglaze blue decoration and gilt highlights applied to the clothing and accessories. At least one figurine bears a hand-painted blue mark to the side of the base, appearing to read as the characters R and V. The collection is characteristic of mid-20th-century continental European ornamental porcelain produced in the Rococo-revival or Dresden style.
