Lot 409: A Collection of Mid-Century Stoneware Tableware Attributed to Poole Pottery Chestnut Pattern
A collection of vintage glazed stoneware tableware attributed to the Chestnut pattern produced by Poole Pottery as part of the Compact range designed by Robert Jefferson. The lot includes pieces in two coordinating styles: one featuring a rich chocolate brown glaze with contrasting pale interiors, and the other in a speckled oatmeal or cream glaze with dark brown accents. Both styles are characterised by distinctive vertical ribbing or fluting to the lower sections and rims. The assortment comprises various items including dinner plates and side plates with banded rims, multiple mugs including stackable forms, two pouring jugs, two gravy boats with matching oval stands, and a lidded sugar bowl. Several pieces bear adhesive auction lot labels from Liskeard Auction Rooms. No factory backstamps are visible in the provided images.
