Lot 512: A Collection of Victorian and Later Metalware including a Copper Kettle and Brass Novelties
A collection of assorted metalware and decorative novelty items. The group features a large copper kettle of traditional form with a fixed overhead strap handle, a circular fitted lid with a loop finial, and a short, straight pouring spout. The collection includes several brass items: a miniature field cannon mounted on a black-painted carriage, a small handbell with a turned handle, a miniature clog with engraved floral decoration, a small jug, and a hinged nut-shaped box containing two miniature black dice. Also present are two silver-toned metal dishes, comprising a circular bowl with a heavily embossed repoussé floral and scroll border and a small oblong tray with a gadrooned edge. An auction lot tag for Lot 512 from Liskeard Auction Rooms is attached to the kettle handle. No maker’s marks are visible on the items.
