Lot 718: A Set of New Hall Pottery Indian Tree Pattern Dinnerware
A set of New Hall Pottery Co Ltd earthenware dinnerware decorated in the Indian Tree pattern. The pieces feature a cream-coloured body with transfer-printed and hand-coloured decoration. The central design depicts a traditional gnarled tree with vibrant peony and prunus blossoms in shades of pink, blue, and green. Each piece is finished with a scalloped edge and gilded rim, framed by a complex geometric border interspersed with floral vignettes. The lot consists of a twin-handled lidded vegetable tureen, dinner plates, and side plates. The underside of the plates bears a brown printed backstamp featuring a shield with a castle motif, with banners for Newhall and Hanley, and England below.
