Lot 722: A Pair of Mid-20th Century Oak Armchairs and Tapestry Cushion
A pair of mid-20th century British low-profile armchairs constructed from hardwood, likely oak, with a clear finish. The frames feature broad, flat-topped sloping armrests with rounded terminals and square-section legs. Both chairs are upholstered in a crimson-red textured fabric characterised by a fine vertical ribbed pattern. Included with the chairs is a square cushion featuring a tapestry-style cover depicting a scene from the medieval Lady and the Unicorn series. The construction is typical of British commercial furniture from the mid-century period. One armrest bears a white adhesive label for Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 722.
