Lot 814: Edwardian Oak Jacobean Revival Dressing Chest with Bevelled Mirror
An Edwardian dressing chest constructed from dark stained oak with secondary softwood drawer linings. The superstructure features a rectangular bevelled mirror plate set within a frame with a double-arched crest, supported by two turned spindles. A shallow carved frieze depicting a Celtic-style strapwork motif is positioned below the mirror frame. The chest comprises three long graduated drawers, each fitted with patinated metal drop handles on decorative circular backplates. The top surface is constructed of solid oak planks. The whole is raised on square section legs. Modern auction lot labels for Liskeard Auction Rooms are adhered to the mirror plate.
