Lot 944: Beken of Cowes, An Assortment of Framed Maritime Prints, a Mirror and a Canvas Print
This lot comprises an assortment of framed items, led by a large-scale silver gelatin archival reproduction print by Beken of Cowes. The photograph depicts the racing yachts Britannia and Shamrock V in 1930. The print includes printed attribution to Beken of Cowes in the lower left margin and the title Britannia and Shamrock V 1930 in the lower right margin. It is housed behind glass in an off-white window mount and a dark-toned wooden frame with a gilt inner slip.
The collection also includes a second framed monochrome maritime photograph showing a yacht and its reflection on calm water, presented in a black frame with a white mount. Further items consist of a large decorative print in an ornate gold-coloured frame, a rectangular wall mirror with a simple pine frame, and a work mounted on canvas.
