Lot 287: A Set of Six Victorian Style Cast Iron Double Acorn Coat and Hat Hooks
A set of six double-prong hat and coat hooks manufactured from cast iron. Each hook is designed in a traditional Victorian style, featuring a dual-arm configuration with a larger lower scroll for coats and a smaller upper projection for hats. The design is characterised by acorn-style ball finials at each terminal and cast-in linear decorative detailing along the spine of the hooks. The hooks include integral mounting plates, each featuring two pre-drilled holes for wall or board mounting. No manufacturer marks are visible on the castings. One hook currently bears a temporary auction label marked L 287.
