Lot 447: A Collection of Silver-Plated Tableware and Metalware
An assortment of silver-plated and metalware items, primarily for table service, in various styles. The collection includes a cylindrical preserve or honey pot featuring a pierced lattice-work body and a hinged lid topped with a ball finial, fitted with a cobalt blue glass liner and resting upon a matching circular under-tray. Also present is a circular silver-plated salver with a decorative scalloped shell and scroll border, raised on three scroll-form feet. The group further comprises several circular coasters with silver-plated rims and turned wooden bases, a small silver-plated cream jug of baluster form with an S-scroll handle, and a mechanical metal frame corkscrew. Additional items include a circular footed serving dish with a domed lid and foliate border decoration, a scoop-form tea strainer with a perforated bowl, and a rectangular picture frame with a repousse foliate and scroll border. A wrought metal stand, likely intended for a spirit kettle, is also included. No maker marks or hallmarks are clearly legible from visual inspection.
