Lot 497: A late 19th or early 20th-century Rococo Revival cast metal easel picture frame
A tabletop picture frame constructed from cast metal with a gilt finish, designed in the Rococo Revival style. The frame features an elaborate openwork border of scrolling foliage and C-scrolls, surmounted by a stylised acanthus leaf cresting. The rectangular sight edge is decorated with a beaded or gadrooned border. To the reverse, the original fold-out easel stand is attached, with three metal turn-tabs securing a plain card backing. Stamped numbers to the lower rear include a 5 to the left and 2076 to the right, flanking an indistinct circular mark.
