Lot 498: Kodak No. 2A Folding Autographic Brownie Camera
A Kodak No. 2A Folding Autographic Brownie camera, manufactured by the Eastman Kodak Company of Rochester, New York, USA, between 1915 and 1926. This folding roll film camera is designed for use with No. A-116 autographic film, producing negatives measuring 2 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 inches. The camera features a metal body finished with a black leatherette covering, black bellows, and nickel-plated folding struts. It is equipped with a Kodak Ball Bearing shutter with settings for T, B, 1/25, 1/50, and 1/100 seconds. A reversible waist-level viewfinder is mounted above the lens assembly. The rear of the camera incorporates an autographic door intended for use with a stylus to record data on the film backing. The leather handle is embossed with the model name, which is also present on the shutter faceplate and the interior of the autographic door.
