Lot 579: A Collection of Decorative Items and Collectibles including a Chinese Style Soapstone Carving and Metalwares
A diverse group of decorative objects and household collectibles. The collection features a large Chinese style soapstone carving, executed in mottled red, tan, and black stone, depicting monkeys and deer amidst openwork rockery. Included is a miniature black-glazed vase with gilt-painted oriental figures and a polished green hardstone apple featuring a curved metal stem. Porcelain elements consist of a miniature twin-handled cup with floral decoration and a small candle holder with a shallow circular base decorated with floral sprays. The lot also contains a faceted glass or crystal sphere, a metal crucifix, and a small bronze-toned figurine of a reclining dog.
