Lot 826: A Collection of The Girl's Own Annual Volumes and Glazed Ceramic Decorative Items
A collection of late 19th and early 20th-century cloth-bound books and glazed ceramic decorative objects. The group includes several volumes of The Girl’s Own Annual, featuring decorative covers with gilt-heightened titles and illustrations of women in period costume. One volume is bound in a mustard-coloured cloth with a large gilt-embossed figure of a knight in armour to the upper board. The ceramic items comprise animal-form vessels, including a swan-shaped planter, a textured figure of a sheep, and a planter depicting a fish head, all finished in white and pale blue glazes. A lot label numbered 826 is adhered to the front board of one volume.
