Lot 705: A Collection of Four Portmeirion Botanic Garden Pattern Ceramics
This collection of Portmeirion ceramics is decorated in the Botanic Garden pattern, featuring transfer-printed botanical illustrations. The group comprises a flared bowl and three cylindrical storage canisters with light-coloured wooden lids. The earthenware pieces are decorated with floral and insect motifs, including Hypericum Calycinum (St. John’s Wort), Iris Germanica, Lilium Tigrinum (Tiger Lily), Lonicera Periclymenum (Honeysuckle), and Convolvulus (Bindweed). The bowl features a green laurel leaf border to the interior rim. The base of each piece is marked with the Portmeirion factory backstamp within a foliate wreath, including the text THE BOTANIC GARDEN circa 1818, PORTMEIRION made in England, and Copyright design.
