Lot 925: Mid-century modern bow-fronted cocktail sideboard with wood-grain and marbled laminate finishes
This mid-century modern bow-fronted cocktail sideboard is constructed with wood-grain and marbled-effect laminates, characteristic of British furniture design from the 1960s. The unit features a wood-grain laminate top surface above a decorative brass-toned perforated metal gallery trim. The central section includes a drop-down cocktail compartment door with a marbled-effect laminate finish, positioned above a full-width drawer. The drawer interior is lined with red baize and divided into three sections for cutlery. The central section is flanked by two curved cupboard doors in wood-grain laminate which open to reveal storage areas with single internal shelves. The sideboard is raised on four tapered wooden legs in an out-swept style, terminating in brass-effect ferrule feet. Hardware includes horizontal metal pull handles with a satin finish. An auction label for Liskeard Auction Rooms is present on the top surface.
