Lot 317: A Collection of Vintage Household Collectables and Tools, including an Optimus No. 406 Blowtorch
A collection of miscellaneous vintage household items and tools. The group features a brass blowtorch stamped with the maker and model Optimus No. 406, manufactured in Uplands Vasby, Sweden. Also included is a green-painted metal balance scale with a set of five graduated, stacked weights and a separate circular metal weighing pan. A large cylindrical green-painted metal canister with a lid is present alongside a vintage inspection lamp featuring a protective metal cage and a coiled cord. The collection contains several vintage toiletry and cosmetic items, notably Sunlight soap packets, two glass perfume atomizers with bulbs, a small cream-coloured box marked Chanel, and a turquoise rectangular box. Additional items include a black leather wallet with a brass-toned clasp, a cased set of cutlery with cream-coloured handles, a small green glass bottle, and a small green plastic animal figurine.
Condition report:
The items exhibit age-related wear and signs of use throughout. There is visible surface oxidation, pitting, and paint loss to the balance scales, weights, and metal pan. The blowtorch shows a deep patina and surface abrasions. Packaging for the soap and cosmetics shows wear, creasing, and minor tearing. The leather wallet shows surface scuffing and wear to the edges.
