Lot 399: An Assortment of Decorative Collectibles including a Metamec Mantel Clock and Commemorative Plate
An assortment of decorative and household collectibles. The lot includes a Metamec quartz mantel clock, featuring a rectangular wood-effect case with a brass-tone swing handle to the top. The dial displays Roman numerals and is marked METAMEC QUARTZ and MADE IN ENGLAND. Also included is a porcelain cabinet plate on a black display stand, featuring a monochrome transfer print depicting St Martin’s Church, Bladon, within a green foliate and gilt-trimmed border. A tall bronze-tone Egyptian figure depicts a standing deity in traditional regalia with arms crossed, mounted on a polished pale onyx-style rectangular base. The collection further comprises a cased set of white metal flatware presented in a black box with a red satin-lined interior, a wooden model of a three-masted sailing ship with rigging and cream-coloured sails, a tall cylindrical chrome-plated object with a flared and stepped base, and a small hand-painted ceramic figurine of a seated figure with a stringed instrument.
Condition report:
The items are in fair to good overall condition, displaying surface wear, dust, and minor abrasions consistent with age and use. The Metamec clock has not been tested for timekeeping or mechanical functionality. The cased flatware box shows some external scuffing and wear to the lining. Minor finish loss and surface scratches are present on the Egyptian figure and the chrome-plated object. The model ship and ceramic figurine show typical light shelf wear.
