Lot 407: A Collection of Ten Assorted Porcelain Figurines and Decorative Items
A collection of ten assorted porcelain and decorative items including pieces in the eighteenth-century style. The assortment features a large porcelain group figurine depicting two couples in period costume decorated with hand-painted multi-coloured floral sprigs and gold-gilt highlights. Also included is a trio of blue and white porcelain figurines in the Dresden style, comprising a group on a seesaw, a seated woman with lace-work, and a seated man in a tricorn hat, all decorated with underglaze blue floral patterns. Further items include a seated character figure in a green coat and red waistcoat, a figurine of a young girl with a deer, a miniature white reproduction after Michelangelo’s David, and a patinated metal figure of a classical warrior with a shield and sword. Two porcelain dishes with floral sprays and gilt rims complete the lot. Blue underglaze marks are present on several bases but are not clearly legible for definitive factory identification. A white adhesive auction label for HCP Auctions South West Lot 407 is attached to the largest group.
Condition report:
The collection is in good used condition overall. Minor chips and losses are present on the delicate applied porcelain flowers and fine lace-work details. There is visible light rubbing and wear to the gold-gilt highlights on the rims and extremities of several pieces. No major cracks or professional restorations are apparent from visual inspection.
