Lot 417: A Set of Denby Chevron Pattern Stoneware Coffee Ware
A collection of stoneware coffee ware in the Chevron pattern, produced by Denby. The set is finished in a matte olive green glaze and features a distinctive relief-moulded herringbone texture to the exterior surfaces. The interiors of the cups are finished with a contrasting pale-coloured glossy glaze. The group includes a tall cylindrical coffee pot with a fitted lid, coffee cups with loop handles, and matching saucers. A handwritten adhesive label attached to the coffee pot reads: VENDOR 1924 / VINTAGE DENBY COFFEE / SET CHEVRON DESIGN / GOOD CONDITION RES £20. The Chevron range was designed by Gill Pemberton and was produced by Denby from the 1960s.
Condition report:
The set is in good overall condition. There are no significant chips, cracks, or visible repairs to the coffee pot, cups, or saucers. Light surface wear and minor manufacturing imperfections consistent with age and use may be present. The interiors appear clean and well-maintained.
