Lot 454: A Trio of Decorative Paperweights including a Caithness Vortice and an Attributed Hafod Grange Botanical Specimen
A collection of three decorative paperweights of varying techniques. The first is a spherical blown glass paperweight by Caithness Glass, Scotland, in the Vortice pattern. It is crafted in a deep aquamarine colour featuring a central whirlpool or vortice effect. The base is acid-etched with the inscription Vortice Caithness Scotland and the alphanumeric reference U32106. The second item is a clear resin spherical paperweight encasing a preserved natural red rose blossom alongside delicate dried botanical specimens. It features an inset grey metal medallion to the base depicting a spiral shell motif, a mark characteristic of and attributed to Hafod Grange. The third is a clear glass dome paperweight featuring a printed or decoupage design of a vibrant blue butterfly set against a white ground decorated with decorative antique-style script.
