Lot 514: A Collection of Glazed Ceramic Prehistoric Animal Figurines, Attributed to Wade Whimsies
A group of miniature glazed ceramic figurines depicting various prehistoric animals and dinosaurs. The assortment includes models representing species such as Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, Apatosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and Dimetrodon. The figurines are finished in a high-gloss glaze in a colour palette of brown, tan, blue, and green, with several figures standing on textured green bases. This series is characteristic of the Prehistoric Animals range produced by Wade Ceramics in England during the early 1970s. While such miniatures typically carry the Wade England backstamp on the base, no maker marks are visible in the current display. The figurines are associated with lot tag 514 for HCP Auctions South West.
Condition report:
The figurines appear to be in good overall condition. There is no evidence of significant damage, repairs, or missing parts from the visual inspection. Minor fleabite chips, which are common for glazed ceramic miniatures of this type, may be present on protruding elements but are not clearly visible in the photographs. The high-gloss glaze remains bright.
