Lot 522: Royal Doulton Biddy Pennyfarthing Porcelain Figurine HN 1843
A Royal Doulton hand-painted glazed porcelain figurine entitled Biddy Pennyfarthing, model number HN 1843. The figure is modelled as an elderly woman street vendor, depicted holding a large, vibrant cluster of multi-coloured balloons in her right arm and a small basket containing yellow flowers in her left hand. She is dressed in a voluminous white skirt, a dark green shawl with a lilac border, and a yellow bonnet. The underside of the base features a green underglaze factory mark with a lion and crown motif above a circular Royal Doulton England stamp. The base is further inscribed in a handwritten style with Biddy Pennyfarthing and the model number H.N. 1843.
Height: approximately 23cm.
Condition report:
The figurine appears to be in good overall condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or signs of previous restoration. The delicate balloon and flower components remain intact.
