Lot 552: Two Porcelain Figurines Attributed to Coalport and Franklin Mint
A lot of two porcelain figurines, identified by an accompanying auction house label as Coalport and Franklin Mint. The first figurine is a polychrome porcelain study of a woman in Japanese dress, likely from a Franklin Mint series. She is depicted in a dynamic pose with voluminous, multi-layered robes. The outer garment features a blue and white design of a phoenix among peonies, bordered with a gilded Greek key pattern. The inner skirts are finished with red and green floral and geometric motifs, highlighted with extensive gilding. The figure stands on a base modelled as stylised white clouds.
The second figurine is a porcelain lady dressed in a white Regency-style gown, characteristic of the Coalport Ladies of Fashion range. The dress is decorated with small gold stars and has pink and gold geometric borders at the bodice, sleeves, and hem. Details include a gold circlet in her hair and a blue cabochon-style jewel at the neckline. No backstamps or factory marks are visible in the photographs provided.
