Lot 670: A Pair of Beswick Beatrix Potter Glazed Ceramic Figurines
A pair of Beswick glazed ceramic figurines depicting characters from the stories of Beatrix Potter. One figurine, titled And this Pig had none, represents a pig character seated and attired in a brown hat, a patterned waistcoat, and a purple coat. The base is marked with the Beswick England circular stamp, the character title, and copyright notices for F. Warne and Co. and Royal Doulton from 1992. A small hand-painted decorator mark is also present. The second figurine is Mrs. Tittlemouse, shown as a mouse character in a red and white striped blouse and a blue and white striped skirt, set on a green circular base. The base is marked with the character name, a 1948 copyright for Frederick Warne and Co., and the Beswick England manufacturer mark, accompanied by hand-painted markings.
