Lot 771: New World 34 Vintage Freestanding Gas Cooker with Eye Level Grill
A mid-20th-century vintage freestanding gas cooker manufactured by the British brand New World, model 34. The appliance is finished in white enamel and features a four-burner gas hob on the top surface. Positioned above the hob is an integrated eye-level grill unit supported by metal side brackets. The front control panel includes five circular control knobs labelled Back, Grill, Oven, Front, and Back. The main oven compartment features a horizontal chrome-effect handle, and below this is a secondary base drawer for storage or warming. A metal badge on the rear splashback panel is inscribed with the text New World 34, with the brand name partially enclosed within a large stylized letter C. The cooker is accompanied by a handheld gas igniter accessory with a flexible cable. This model is a characteristic example of domestic kitchen technology from the 1950s period.
