Lot 772: A Traditional Georgian Style Three-Drawer Bedside Chest of Drawers
A small mahogany-finished chest of drawers designed in a traditional Georgian reproduction style. The piece features a rectangular top over three graduated drawers, each fitted with an antiqued brass-finish circular drop-ring pull mounted on a decorative backplate. The drawer fronts are accented with a simple moulded border. The carcass is flanked by fluted pilasters on the corners, all supported by a plinth base with bracket feet. The interior of the drawers is constructed from a lighter-coloured secondary wood, indicating mid-to-late 20th-century manufacture. Research suggests this design is consistent with the British Imperial collection by Stanley Furniture, although no maker mark or label was identified during inspection.
