Lot 824: An Assortment of Hand-Carved Hardwood Dolphin Figurines
An assortment of hand-carved hardwood marine figurines, primarily depicting dolphins. The collection includes a large-scale sculpture of a leaping dolphin, an intertwined pair of dolphins in a dynamic circular arrangement, and smaller individual carvings including one dolphin mounted on a fan-shaped shell base. Each piece is crafted from a solid block of light-to-medium-toned hardwood, featuring a prominent natural grain and a polished surface finish consistent with Suar wood or similar tropical timber. The items are accompanied by paper labels from Liskeard Auction Rooms, indicating lot numbers 791 and 824. No maker’s marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on any of the pieces.
