Lot 825: An A.H. McIntosh & Co. Ltd. Dunvegan Teak Sideboard
A mid-twentieth century teak sideboard by A.H. McIntosh & Co. Ltd. of Kirkcaldy, Scotland, in the Dunvegan model. The piece is constructed with teak veneers and features solid teak tapered legs and handles. The front is configured with a bank of three drawers to the left-hand side, the uppermost being a fitted cutlery drawer lined with red baize and divided by wooden sections. The central section consists of two cupboard doors with circular recessed handles that open to reveal an interior storage space with a fixed, uniquely shaped cutout shelf. To the right is a single door with a long horizontal integrated lip handle, functioning as a drop-down cocktail cabinet. A metal manufacturer’s plaque is riveted to the interior side of the top drawer, reading Mc A. H. McINTOSH & CO LTD KIRKCALDY SCOTLAND.
