Lot 842: A Collection of Books including Works by G. H. Vallins and Simon Raven. (DJ)
A collection of books of various genres and formats, including hardcovers and paperbacks. Notable volumes include The Making and Meaning of Words: A Companion to the Dictionary by G. H. Vallins, published by Adam and Charles Black, London, in publisher’s cloth with a dust jacket. Also present is a softcover edition of Miscellaneous Correspondence in Pitman’s Shorthand, New Era Edition, First Series, published by Sir Isaac Pitman and Sons, Ltd. The lot contains two paperback novels by Simon Raven from the Alms for Oblivion series, titled The Judas Boy (Panther Books) and Friends in Low Places (Granada). Additionally, there is a volume titled One Voice by Arnold and Hansen, and a blue cloth-bound hardcover with a central blind-stamped emblem on the front board. The books are presented in a cardboard carton.
