Lot 443: Two Decorative Metallic-Black Glazed Ceramic Items Comprising a Head Planter and a Wall Plaque
Two decorative ceramic items finished in a dark, metallic-black glaze. The first item is a planter or vase moulded in the form of a stylised female head, featuring an intricate, structured headdress with Art Deco-inspired geometric motifs and closed eyes. The second item is a wall plaque depicting a face in high relief with a heavily textured, organic surface and expressive features. Both pieces appear to be manufactured from a dark-bodied ceramic or stoneware material. No maker marks are visible on the exterior surfaces. The planter is currently affixed with a handwritten auction tag and numerical labels 443 and 329.
