Lot 447: A Trio of Victorian Cast Brass Fireside Items comprising a Pair of Tool Rests and a Door Porter
A matching pair of brass hearth tool rests and a single brass door porter, exhibiting the classical turned designs characteristic of late 19th-century English domestic metalwork. The tool rests feature weighted, tiered rectangular bases with rounded ends, supporting two turned upright pillars connected by a horizontal crossbar and topped with small circular finials. The door porter is constructed with a flared, four-footed base and a central turned column, surmounted by a thick rope-twist ring handle. All items are made from cast brass. There are no visible manufacturer marks, foundry stamps, or signatures; the pieces are attributed to the late Victorian or early 20th-century period based on their form and construction.
