Lot 532: A Decorative Ceramic Lidded Jar and a Ribbed Clear Glass Vase
This lot consists of two decorative items. The first is a ceramic lidded jar of baluster form, featuring twin lug handles to the shoulders and a fitted domed lid with a small finial. The earthenware body is hand-painted with large stylised blue flowers with maroon centres, set against a mottled yellow and green ground. The design is finished with blue banded borders to the foot and the rim of the lid, in a style consistent with mid-20th century Italian decorative pottery. The second item is a clear glass vase of flaring trumpet form with a bulbous base, featuring overall vertical optic ribbing. There are no visible manufacturer marks or stamps on either piece.
